Equipment: USB to Serial adapter
Manufacture: FTDI
OS: Windows 10 - 11

Download & Unzip (remember the location) - Windows 10, 11 FTDI VCP Driver:  https://ftdichip.com/drivers/vcp-drivers/

Plug in the cable and wait until it is recognized (you will hear it connect through your computer speakers)

In the Search Open "Device Manager" scroll down to "Ports (Com & LPT)" and double click or pull down using your mouse.
Locate the "new comport" and right mouse and click on "Update driver" a screen will open and choose "Browse my computer for drivers"
use the browse to go to where you unzipped the driver. Now choose that folder and click "OK"

It will show up in "Device Manager" scroll down to "Ports (Com & LPT)" and double click look for the new comport and
"right mouse' and click on "Properties" in the window look for "Manufacturer: FTDI"

Your USB to serial adapter is working.
